How is this similar?

In Frankenstein, a monster is born from science, with the punishment of him having various mental and physical defects. A scientist called Frankenstein created a human which was deemed against god, thus giving the monster his label and his ugly appearance. In our film, science is used to religions advantage (to make the children more religious) but the experiments went wrong that now the children are murderous and evil.

What can we take from this trailer?

Not much can be said. The trailer is so dated that the conventions of a horror trailer has changed. Narration on the trailer was good though, so there is a chance we could use actual dialogue from the trailer as a voice over, perhaps the mother of one of the children.
